Overall, there are 400+ million devices under its protection right now, and the client base keeps getting bigger. They have been around since 1991 and, along with Kaspersky, are the leaders of the race.
As you will learn soon, versatility and flexibility are this company’s biggest selling points, and along with the antivirus packages, there’s also a browser – Secure (used to be called Avast Safezone two years ago), a VPN service, and several tiny-yet-useful apps.
There’s an antivirus solution that will fit even the most modest budget. And regardless of which tier you go with, you’ll always get all the latest updates. During the independent tests, the Avast products constantly prove their worth and always enter the list of Top-3 most secure antiviruses.
The user interface is very intuitive, well-designed, and fast, which pretty much makes Avast Antivirus perfect not only for the pros but also the beginners who want a “plug-and-play” kind of software.
Avast is Best for
- Devices running on Windows OS;
- Regular users and business owners;
- People that put security and privacy above all;
- Users looking for entry-level protection. Upgrading to the higher tears is very easy.
How Good is Avast?
Avast Antivirus homepage presents an interesting claim of saving the world with the best technology. Indeed, since emerging on the software market, Avast evolved from merely being antivirus application to a larger product that assists users worldwide in their digital working and personal experience.
Although there is a variety of accessible software, Avast Antivirus rating steadily shows high marks and apprise of professionals. The final choice always would be up to personal preferences and demands. Avast is perfect for those who need a trustworthy, fast, and reliable application that is easy to get from the official distributor without any effort.
First and foremost, it is convenient to find all important information from the developer on their website. Before purchasing, you can learn about all the nuances of free and paid packages, and read more about additional security tools. The price range is set to satisfy the needs of all possible users, yet the specter of functions would slightly differ.
Nevertheless, either choosing Avast Free or Avast Premier, you will get the perfect level of security. Both versions have essential features of Smart Scan, password protection, browser cleanup, and antivirus. However, there are Pro and Premier packages that are both worthy of considering, but the difference is the complexity and protection coverage they offer. For instance, Premier package offers the fullest specter of features, including anti-spam and webcam shield protection.
On the other hand, whatever option you pick, you still will be supplied with high-level protection.
Avast Antivirus offers relevant apps for Mac, Windows, Android, and iOS platforms as well as solutions for business enterprises and multi-user software. Avast is lightweight and advanced, which increases performance without slowing down the device.
Is Avast Scan Performance any good?
Avast remains one of the top picks for Internet and computer security for its usability and reliability. Even though there is no limit for perfection, the software shows steady growth. Sometimes it still needs adjustments to recognize most of the potentially dangerous viruses and attacks. However, Avast offline and online malware detection rate consists of 98.6, while the rate of protection is 99.99% and shows 15 instances of the false alarm, according to AV-Comparatives test results.
Avast received roughly second place in comparison to other products, but the result is still promising. The lower results were shown with the analysis of unknown components. Sometimes Avast cannot define them as a threat. Avast Online Scan is a bit weaker with the detection of harmful URLs and prevention to eliminate them before the process of the download will begin.
Avast’s Smart Scan presents the multilayered examination, which can be scheduled, from browser components to PC performance issues. However, the further process of resolving current performance issues may require the purchase of Avast Premium Cleaner, which won’t fit everyone. Smart Scan test is quick and helpful for discovering any threats on the surface. Therefore, for a more detailed checkup, it is better to utilize the Full Virus Scan, but it will take several hours to complete.
Avast Online Security and Browser Cleanup are the extensions that help you avoid ad tracks and analyzes websites security level. Note, that Secure Browser is free for installment within the latest updates.
Also, Better Business Bureau graded Avast with A+, considering it a certified and reliable business. In another credible testing lab, AV-Test, Avast got 6 points out of 6 for Protection, 5.5 out of 6 for Performance, and 6 out of 6 for Usability.
Last but not least. Although boot scan is rarely used, it offers an analysis of the hidden threats that cannot be spotted during the Smart Scan session. It is an extended run test, taking several hours to complete. This type of scan enables to eliminate malware that can sabotage not only the security but overall functionality of your PC.
Avast Anti-Rootkit
Anti-rootkit security is essential for avoiding the intrusion into one’s administrative access to a PC. A rootkit is a program that operates on lower layers of the system. Because of this aspect, you should use a rootkit scanner within the updated antivirus software and firewall. However, anti-rootkit scan and monitor are pre-installed in the software and available within the program startup.
Notably, the process of searching and disabling harmful programs does not require additional time or manual set since it can perform automatically. The latest March 2019 Avast anti-rootkit update improved the protection of unified extensible firmware interface.

Avast Pricing in 2022
As one of the leading antivirus solutions on the market, Avast is very well capable of offering the potential clients affordable price-tags. Entry-level options for Windows, Mac and Android are completely free. Avast paid propositions come with a number of useful extras, and while they might not be the cheapest packages, they are, indeed, very competitive compared to other industry leaders. Let us take a closer look at the prices for every single plan/package from the Avast family.
- Avast Premium Security for Single Device –$69.99
- Avast Premium Security for Multi-Device – $89.99
- Avast Ultimate for Windows – $99.99
We’ll discuss the specifics of every package in detail further in our review. Let us note that all the prices are for a 1-year subscription for 1 device. With 2 and 3-year plans, you can save around 8% and 12% respectively. If you need an antivirus for more than 1 device, take a multi-device license to save as well.
Avast Money-Back Guarantee
Notable, Avast Antivirus has a firm refund policy that guarantees that within 30 days from the moment of the product purchase, you can get your money back. It can be done independently by visiting the official website and selecting the support page. The process is automatic, but you have to describe the reason what and why you want to have a refund.
Arguably, each case should be reviewed independently. The further return process offers to select the time-span when you purchased it. Although it requires to dedicate some of your time, Avast provides the most suitable form to request your money back quickly
Reliability and Security
Reliability is the most critical aspect of any antivirus solution, along with security. For most modern-day antiviruses, it’s almost impossible to earn a top score in offline and real-time virus detection and removal tests. But that’s not the case with Avast. The company is doing a fantastic job of gathering info from the computers of its clients (again, 400+ million people). That helps the team responsible for security to come up with countermeasures to the new malware in a matter of hours.
But let’s talk about actual, real-world tests and see exactly how the antivirus performed. We’ll be looking at independent lab results ran by third-parties like AV-Comparatives and AV-Test.
A quick note: most modern-day companies actually pay independent testers like these to review their product. When the results are impressive, they can use that for advertisement. And when they’re poor, these testers help them improve the engines.
AV-Test always rates antivirus products based on their usability, performance, and protection. The maximum score is 18, and Avast managed to earn 17.3 and the company’s Top Product award. Kaspersky and Bitdefender, however, earned a perfect 18.
SE Labs, in turn, incorporates a replay system of attacks, and in their tests, Avast received the AA certification (AAA is the perfect score).
Malware Protection with Avast
In recent tests, Avast managed to wipe out 75% of malicious samples the second they were planted, which is quite impressive. Yes, it got rid of most of the potentially dangerous files before they could even self-install. Overall, Avast detected 89% of the samples, which automatically gives it 8.9 points of 10. This is an impressive result; yet, Norton, McAfee, and some other antivirus products earned 9.3 points.
At the same time, Avast has a great feature: whenever it detects something unfamiliar, it instantly blocks its access to any folders and sends it to the HQ for a quick analysis. The bad news is – the antivirus doesn’t always recognize them as dangerous malware after the analysis. Sometimes, it claims that they pose no danger (even though they do).
In our own malware-hosting URL test, Avast instantly blocked access to 60 percent of the URLs and managed to eliminate 30 more percent right at the download stage. Overall, it earned a 91% protection score. AVG performed similarly. Compared to McAfee (97) and Bitdefender (99), that’s an above average result, but still not very impressive.
Avast Scanning Options
To run a Smart Scan, all you have to do is click the big green button in the middle of the screen. The scan includes browser add-ons, scans for any malware on the device, network security issues, problems with performance, apps/software with no security updates, and not-strong-enough passwords. On average, it takes the test 10-15 minutes to complete.
The antivirus can automatically update any outdated programs, which is quite handy. However, the performance issues won’t be fixed unless you’ve got the Cleanup service installed.
On the Protection page, you’ll find more options for a Scan. The Full Virus Scan takes +/- 2 hours. That’s very slow, as the modern-day average is 50-60 minutes. But, you won’t be running it every day, so, it’s not that big of an issue.
The Boot Time Scan is specifically designed to find and get rid of persistent malware that hides in the shadows and can’t be eliminated through a regular cleanup. Important note: the Boot Time Scan runs before the OS runs, meaning system-based malware won’t be able to hide. This test is also a long one.
Ease of Use
This company has been one of the leaders in the industry for decades, and the team working on the interface managed to deliver a near-perfect product. As most of the rivals, Avast offers the users a very intuitive, friendly, and straightforward product.
While the algorithms and the protocols are quite sophisticated, for the average user, it won’t be hard to launch and use any of the available packages. The engine does everything on its own and won’t distract the user from working or relaxing in front of the computer. Ease of use is one of the key elements of any modern-day program/app, and Avast is an indisputable leader in this field.
Avast Download and Installation
The download routine is very simple and straightforward. All you have to do is visit the official website, select one of the available packages, and click “buy now” to download it on your device. A quick fact: the free Avast security package can also be found on third-party websites. However, we recommend only using the official website for any purchases and downloads.
Unlike some of the rivals, it won’t take more than a couple of minutes to install the Avast products on your device. It doesn’t matter whether you need Avast for Mac or Windows, as the clients are all fast, reliable, and versatile. More good news: the antivirus doesn’t take a lot of hard drive space.
Avast User Interface
As we just mentioned, this is a very easy-to-use antivirus. As for the Avast user interface, it’s on par with critically-acclaimed antiviruses like Kaspersky and Bitdefender. The interface is very simple; at the same time, it is highly informative, and it’s easy to navigate through the available options and menus. When the device is protected, and there are no potential threats, you’ll see a green checkmark (it changes to red when you’re in danger).
Right below it, there is a huge button that runs instant scans. On the left, we’ve got “Status”, “Protection”, “Privacy”, and “Performance”. Everything is just a click away, and even an entry-level user will be able to make sense of it all. However, despite the somewhat basic interface, there’s a great potential for customization.
You can change pretty much every single tool and adjust it to your liking. Just go to Menu – Settings. Don’t worry: even if you “mess it up,” there’s a button that allows you to reset everything to default settings. Updates, info about the current version of the antivirus, and the list of the available components (including the company’s VPN, the Cleanup feature, and the more basic features) are all there.
Performance
When it comes to system performance, Avast is among the best. You won’t even feel it working on the background, which can’t be said about most antiviruses.
The bottom line is – if you own a modern-day computer, notebook, or any other device (including mobile phones), rest assured that there will be absolutely no problems with Avast. Even during a scan, the impact on system performance isn’t dramatic. That means the users can keep on watching movies, surfing the internet, and working while the antivirus is running the most sophisticated scans.
Avast Antivirus Prices and Features
- Free Antivirus
- Premium Security (Single-Device)
- Premium Security (Multi-Device)
- Avast Ultimate
As mentioned earlier, this is one of the most versatile and flexible providers on the market. They have packages for regular users, business owners, and an impressive list of additional software/apps. Let us take a closer look at the current plans and see which one is best for you in our comprehensive table.
Avast was initially created to be used on the Microsoft OS, as it was the most popular system 2-3 decades ago. That partially explains why there are so many options on Win compared to the other systems. If you want to get Avast for Mac, you’ll be a bit disappointed by the lack of options. But let’s start with the Windows packages first.
Avast Antivirus for Windows
Avast Free Antivirus
Avast Free Version is the first product that official website offers. It is best to get it from the Avast website, without searching for any third party installing links and other dubious sources. Since it does not demand any extra time or effort, you can earn about this version benefits and then make an informed decision.
Therefore, if it is the first time when you search for good quality antivirus, you can try Avast Free. Only then you may consider further level-up. Avast Free is beneficial due to its easy interface and accessibility, which allows working without any malfunctions and fear of malware intrusions.
Of course, we all can agree that some other Avast suits can define our digital experience. Before being obliged to try different packages, you can compare and evaluate your free experience when working with Avast. Pro ($49.00 per year), Premier ($69.00 per year), or Ultimate ($119.99 per year) packages are the ones accessible for you.
They provide more convenient safety and add-ons that can secure your data, searching preferences, and further protection if everything essential you keep at your PC. Both free and paid versions perform malware scanning. However, paid packages can allow you to avoid annoying advertisements or potential identity theft.
This is the most basic plan. With it, you get quite a reliable product that will protect your device from the outside threats. For blocking viruses and other malware, this is a decent antivirus (recheck the test results in the “Reliability And Security” section to get a better image in your head).
The free version doesn’t come with many features, but for basic protection, it is more than decent. And, compared to what the rivals have to offer, it is very impressive. With this package, you’ll get:
- Basic protection from malware, ransomware, and other threats;
- Wi-Fi security weakness Scans;
- Secure passwords.
Avast Premium Security
What is Avast Premium Security?
This is the second package offered by Avast. According to the company, this is their most popular product. It is the golden mean and will be more than enough for most users. The list of features includes a highly secure firewall. Plus, there is the Real Site feature (prevents the hackers from accessing your router’s DNS) and Sandbox (allows the users to run suspicion files in a safe environment, thus protecting their devices from any harm). Anti-Spam (blocks potentially dangerous spam/phishing emails), and Ransomware Shield (keeps suspicious programs from changing/deleting any files on your device and ruining them) are also available. The list of other features includes:
- Fake sites alert (prevents the hackers from stealing your data).
- An advanced firewall.
- Junk mail protection.
- Protection for personal files (photos, videos, texts).
Several security features and tools available in the packages will impress you for sure. Avast has been working on advances to make sure that the users get a decent protective software and numerous lab tests can prove this.
Besides, Avast antivirus offers both paid and free versions. And you are welcome to test the program first and make sure that it is a worthy choice. Whether you want to use an antivirus for business or home, Avast Antivirus Security fits. Besides, the Auto Game Mode is an excellent choice for those who love to spend time playing computer games.
Fake Site Alert
Avast software also offers Fake Sites Alerts that aim to protect against data leaks caused by hackers. The Internet is abundant in counterfeit sites that can infect your PC or mobile device. The Fake Sites Alert options cover different aspects of security, and every user will find these helpful while using the Internet.
There are several features:
- Sensitive Data Shield. The element named Sensitive Data Shield checks all the users and apps that may have access to your information. You can use the Data Shield function to scan sensitive files, documents, and thus, protect them from malware or unauthorized access. Confidential information is anything that contains some personal details about you. The feature is an excellent way to secure your identity and privacy. Besides, Data Shield ensures that even in case of hacking, all the sensitive information will be safe.
- Real Site. Real Site is critical for those who want to protect themselves from the Domain Name System (DNS) leak. Here is how it works: every time you enter a website’s URL, Real Site traces an encrypted connection between a web browser you use and the DNS server of Avast. In such a way, the function ensures the authenticity of the entered website URL. Many malicious programs are designed to redirect users from an official website to a fake one (inauthentic). As a result, hackers can easily hijack your sensitive data as, for instance, passwords, login, or even some details of the credit cards. Note that not all antivirus software offers this vital feature.
- Sandbox. The virtualization tool Sandbox is extremely useful if you need to run an app that seems to be suspicious. The tools allow a user to run an app, browse the web in a safe environment that is entirely isolated. Importantly, the web content and history of your Internet activity is kept in this environment while you are running an app, for instance. In such a way, there is no way you can damage your device.
Avast Secure Firewall
A Secure Firewall is an essential feature. It helps you to control all the connections between your computer and other devices connected to the Internet. The feature aims at protecting you from unauthorized access, intrusion, or communication that can damage a computer. What is more, the robust firewall is a powerful protective tool against sensitive information leak and also block any intrusions from the side of hackers.
With Avast Secure Firewall, you can easily set the control rules for the application and be free to decide on how exactly the feature will control both the Internet and network communication for some software apps. The Secure Firewall feature follows the rules every time a specific application is trying to find a connection with a network or the Internet. Such an option is very convenient if there are only some of the programs that seem to be suspicious.
Consider that not all the antivirus software offers an option of rules’ establishment. For instance, a Small Firewall in Norton is useful in terms of such issues as improper connection, port scans, intrusions. Yet, you are not allowed to create your own rules, as the feature offers you the program rules that are automatically created as you are running a particular program. The firewall must always be on to retain the settings of the Automatic Program Control.
Avast Anti-Spam
Today, mail protection is also a critical cyber issue, and the Avast Anti-spam feature is a must for those who want to make sure that no junk and spam mail can get into their inbox. Anti-spam works well with such PC mail clients as Mozilla Thunderbird and Microsoft Outlook. the feature frees the mail management software from all unneeded stuff.
That Avast Anti-spam can be installed manually only. Some time ago, the security packages included the feature by default. That was because there was no Spam option in the webmail providers before. Today, if you receive some junk mail, it goes straight to the Spam box. The providers do all the job for you and filter all the incoming mails.
The task of the spam filter is to examine the incoming Internet Message Access Protocol (POP3) and Post Office Protocol (IMAP) mail traffic. Then, the feature marks all the fishing and spam messages through the URL line modification. The users of Microsoft Outlook do not have to settle any message rules at Anti-spam filters every unwanted email and transfers it to a Spam box. It is an automatized process.
You would like to know that it is possible to manage some extra filtering settings. Avast has three additional options to enhance the functionality of the Anti-spam feature. You can change the main settings the following way: through the Anti-spam sensitivity adjustment or settings’ management.
Besides, you will appreciate the opportunity to create a list of the trusted users – those whose mail should never get filter as spam. On the other hand, you can also create a blacklist with the addresses of the users whose email should always get filters as spam.
Avast Ransomware Shield
Ransomware is a widespread cyber threat today; such attacks result in removal, modification, or even encryption of a user’s sensitive data. Ransomware Shield from Avast is a feature that will protect all the personal files, confidential records, and photos from ransomware attacks.
Having such a feature as Ransomware Shield, you can be calm as for the safety of your data. The feature automatically scans all the folders that are likely to contain some personal information about you. At the same time, you can define the applications that can make some changes in your folders and those that can never modify your data.
Ransomware Shield functions automatically, meaning that it continuously secures your personal information. Besides, you can specify which folder requires protection from unwanted applications. Avast Ransomware Shield is easy to operate when it comes to adjustments. For instance, if you need to protect an additional, you need to pass through a few steps:
- Go to the user interface of the software;
- Click on Protection and Ransomware Shield;
- Click on the title saying Protect New Folder.
Avast Ultimate
This package comes packed with the company’s most popular privacy tools. Avast Secureline is a reliable VPN that’s capable of encrypting your connection and giving access to geo-blocked content. Passwords Premium is a fantastic feature for securing your passwords and strengthening the weakest login-password combinations.
And finally, Avast Cleanup Premium is one of the best tune-up/clean-up apps for optimizing the operating system. On its own, Secureline costs $80 a year; Passwords Premium charges $20 a year; Cleanup Premium costs $50. As you can see in the “Avast Pricing” section, with the Ultimate package, the users will save a substantial amount of money.
Avast Antivirus for Mac
Avast Antivirus is safe for Mac and proves to be one of the most popular and effective antivirus software for Mac OS. The users tend to choose Avast, as this antivirus has an impressive free version so that you can get enough protection, spending no money at all. Some of the features you get together with a free version include the following: real-time protection, malware scanning, web shield, and others.
Mac users can easily schedule custom scans, as well as run them, marking the wanted removal drives and folders. Besides, it is possible to do individual scanning: you can choose a particular item and do its online scan. While a free version offers pretty much, Avast Antivirus Pro for Mac is even more impressive, offering advanced features.
Avast Free Security for Mac
This is the Mac alternative to the free version on Windows. It is just as fast, reliable, and user-friendly. You can schedule scans and surf the web with the antivirus continually warning you about suspicious/hazardous sites. For some first-level protection, this is a great product.
Looking through the Avast antivirus interface, you can see a sidebar with the Protection tab that enlists several options. All in all, there are several of these: Virus Scans, Real Shield, Sandbox, Firewall, Ransomware Shield, Core Shields, Virus Chest. Nevertheless, the owners of a free package can benefit only from the three features, namely, Virus Scans, Virus Chest, and Core Shields. You will have to pay for the full list of protective tools.
Also, if we talk about the features that are not available in the free suite, you should consider that there are three more critical moments:
- An advanced ransomware attack may damage specific primary folders.
- Any Avast firewall review states that a free version offers some basic firewall only.
- No Wi-Fi inspector.
- Keep in mind that Avast free cannot guarantee your security in terms of fake sites.
Security Pro for Mac
This package includes ransomware protection, real-time security alerts, and more. It is an alternative to Internet Security. If you decide to go with this plan, additional software like Avast Secureline, Cleanup Pro, and Password Premium will be available with huge discounts.
Mac OS has a reputation for its security and reliability. However, the hacker attacks are becoming more and more exquisite, and extra quality protection would not be out of place. Avast Pro for Mac includes all the features that come with the free package and offer some advanced and bonus features as well. The price for the advanced suite accounts for $59.99 per year for one device, $69.99 for three devices, and only $99.99 for 10 Macs.
Ransomware Shield is an exclusive offering available in the Avast Premium Security suite and Avast Omni application. You can always be sure that no intrusion and unauthorized access can damage your sensitive data. Ransomware Shield specializes in the protection of the users’ files, records, photos, etc. note that photographs and documents are protected by default, while you still can add extra folders anytime you need.
A paid version of Avast antivirus offers a Wi-Fi Inspector features. Using the option, you get notifications regarding the new network connections from the program. The Inspector has its list of supported and safe devices. In case you want a more precise list, you may perform a home network scanning clicking on a Deep Scan icon. Also, the features provide you with the MAC and IP addresses of all the devices from the list.
Avast Antivirus for Android
Avast Mobile Security. This is the most popular package for Android users. And, it’s 100% free. It earned a 100% protection-usability score in AV-Test and was downloaded more than 100 million times. Regular scans, detections of malicious apps, and verification of Wi-Fi security – that’s what you’ll get with it.
The advanced users can upgrade to Mobile Security Pro or Ultimate for even more security. Those packages come with the aforementioned VPN, the Anti-Theft feature, and more. A quick fact: for Android devices, Avast Secureline, the VPN, is significantly cheaper. The same goes for Cleanup and Passwords.
Avast Antivirus Support and Customer Service
A company this big and famous simply had to make sure that Support and Customer Service were top-notch – and they are. On the official website of Avast Antivirus, you’ll find an impressive FAQ page with answers to the most popular questions. The dedicated forums are also at your disposal.

Avast Latest Update 2022
As developers say on their blog, the upgrade can be made easily by users themselves within the taskbar, user interface, or allow the program to apply updated automatically. In the last option, the program will ask in which manner you would prefer to set these updates (either set fully automatically or asking for manual update). The latest update 19.6.2383 was released on 25 June 2019. The newest version of Avast Antivirus elaborates the interface, passive mode for multiple products running along, and Do Not Disturb Mode.
Foremost, it is an interface that uses the principle of easiness and simplicity. The important moment for those who love games and uninterrupted movie experience, Avast applied the mode where the alerts won’t disrupt the full-screen view. Behavior Shield is the add-on that analyzes PC processes and can predict whether such pattern is typical for the software. Avast would block suspicious files that are similar to threatening ones. It is recommended to be set active since it is yet another step in improving security.
At the same time, the team describes that CPU and disk usage were reduced in favor of PC performance. Simultaneously, Avast Secure Browser also got an update that enhances performance and increases data protection.
Other Avast Products in 2022
Avast Cleanup Tool Review
Avast offers Cleanup as a tool for increasing PC performance. However, why having a separate cleaning up feature if there is a one-piece product that handles different functions simultaneously? Sometimes it is better to concentrate on key takeaways that software has to perform.
In this case, it is enabling your computer run without being dragged down by out-of-date files and data. Specifically, Avast Cleanup focuses on removing every single file that was left behind by one reason to another, either the programs were uninstalled or outdated.
As an additional feature, Cleanup frees PC space from unused extensions, plugins, cache, and toolbars. In other words, something that does not reflect any utility but fills space and reduces other processes. Cleanup optimizes and sorts various utilities so that it could detect corrupt, useless, or malfunctioning entries.
Avast Cleanup also will help you to manage your application, in specifics, apps that may slower boot process. Cleanup also has a user-friendly interface and presents the benefit of multiple users license. If necessary, it is also possible to utilize the Undo option. However, specialists suggest having a backup of your registry. It is because of any Cleanup pretty straightforward warrants its name.
Is Avast Secureline VPN any good?
Avast Secureline VPN is presented in two suits, free for seven trial days, and paid for an extended period. Secureline VPN is an encrypting tool that disables hackers access your data. You can be connected to public WiFi, which poses a threat to your comfort and security. It is suitable for every platform on which Avast can operate and works without bandwidth limits. Avast Secureline VPN provides high-level encryption and no-log policy even though some professionals note that some of the links may be offered to third-party sites (e.g., Twitter or Facebook).
Various tests show that the best aspect of this feature is the lack of DNS, IP, and WebRTC leaks, which means that all data is secured and there is no chance for rootkit programs. Avast Secureline is best recommended for those who work within unreliable WiFi connections and networks and those who want to avoid aggressive target advertisement.

The browser is isolated from potential leaks. It has a password manager and anti-tracking functions, saving your time, and protecting the data. The latest update for Avast Secure Browser was released on 25 July 2019, simplifying your user experience and ease demand on CPU and RAM.
Subsequently, these improvements have to prolong battery life as well. It also introduces an anti-fingerprinting feature that protects you against identifying hardware sound or graphical systems identification by hackers.
Avast Password Manager
Avast Password Manager comes in addition to Avast Free Antivirus (in Windows version) and presents the feature of storing and securing passwords from online services as well as other personalized data. This Password Manager uses specific multi-factor authentication both 2FA (2-factor authentication), MFA (multi-factor authentication), and fingerprint sign-in function so that all data can be secured. Manager can run along with other Avast products correctly, but most importantly, it synchronizes your devices.
It is easy to restore the Master Password that has access to the synchronized devices. Avast Password Manager operates on the synchronization aspect, which creates a backup for the user. It is necessary to provide relevant e-mail during the synchronization process when trying to restore any lost password.
Final Thoughts
Summing up, we want to say that Avast is an all-around solid antivirus solution. It is great at detecting and removing malware of all kinds. The interface is lovely, and it doesn’t put much strain on your device. There are enough packages to choose from. And almost every single product comes with a 7-day trial. Don’t hesitate to use those trials to have a taste of what Avast is truly capable of.

User Reviews
Good antivirus. All I want is for Avast to use live chat and make consumer support free to access
Why I’m taking the time to write this review in many websites?? Because I got tired of this company making excuses for scam people and even they said is our own fault, I was scammed by this company. Avast was saying I had two accounts when they never notified me about the second one nor did I ever agree to it. I found out when I canceled my subscription to the one account I knew about but even though I took out my card information avast was still able to charge me from the second account that I never agreed too. When I tried to get my refund they tried to say it was my fault for not reporting it when avast wouldn’t answer the phone or get return my messages. For what reason would I have two accounts that doesn’t make any sense but they just want to keep my money without understanding any reason. They never even sent me a email confirmation about this so called second account. I was forced to change my card number so that they can’t steal my money and blame it on a third account I never agreed too. I will definitely not be recommending Avast to anyone my experience with them was terrible.

Is your review objective or paid,Mr.Brown?
How on earth can your recommendations be trusted if you rate any Avast or AVG product as being #1 given their global invasions of privacy that have been discovered. And they haven’t even tried to deny it or claim it has been misrepresented.
Just search for Jumpshot in San Fran for a clear picture of what they get up to with your data, clicks and visited URLs. Ccleaner, which they now own, is also no better – among many other failings, it overwrites any privacy settings that you may have set (such as please don’t sell my personal data) to its own favour on each update.
And no – I have nothing to do with the company or its competitors except being an ex-user of both products.
I used both the paid and free version of this antivirus software. Well, I can see the difference, but it is not that cardinal. Honestly, most people don’t need bonus features, like File Shredder or CleanUP (the built-in instruments can cope with it). Don’t overpay!
Good if you have many devices. I use the multi-device version of Avast, and it’s just great, I can protect the whole family.
Avast Free is good for network security, but it does nothing with flash drives. I don’t recommend to install Avast if you use many flash drives, it’s just useless.
Well, I’m not impressed by Avast. Rather an average antivirus. It is difficult to customize the settings if you are not a tech geek. I don’t think it’s suitable for newbies.
Avast is just perfect! It updates its databases without my intervention. And when I set the Scheduled scan, I forgot about the need to control the process all the time. Avast does everything by itself, and I know that my device is safe and sound.
Avast slows down my computer heavily. What can I do with this? Also, sometimes, I see that several files are duplicated after the Avast smart scan. Don’t know, is it okay? I contacted Customer support, but they didn’t answer me yet.
Avast Free is not that good in terms of Internet security. I use Premium protection for 1 device. It suits my needs. If you need excellent protection, focused on the Internet (e.g., suspicious URL-blocking), it is better to choose the paid version.
I think Avast is good antivirus software. Even a Free version is decent, no complaints. But it rather heavy, it slows down my computer during the full system scan.
I used Avast Free antivirus for 2 years without any problems. Last year I bought Ultimate protection, and it works perfectly, includes many helpful features like Password Manager. I am satisfied!
I’m generally happy with Avast, and their safe browser is a truly great thing to have. I have also been using Avast VPN for a while, and the really annoying thing is that is won’t turn on automatically when Wi-Fi connection is unsecure and won’t send Windows notifications. I have these options enabled in settings, so would have been great if they actually worked.
Have been using Avast for 5 years already. It successfully blocked viruses for me working in the background several times. I like that they have ransomware protection and online secure VPN.
You can get Avast for free, it is easy to download and use, and the performance if no worse than paid solutions offer. This is why we use it at work, and I’ve also chosen Avast to protect my home PC.
I’ve been using Avast for a couple of years now, and I am generally pleased with the overall efficiency. Microsoft update really messed things up, and I had hard times resolving the issue with their Customer Service. But, thanks God, it got all resolved and looks like Avast is running in a normal way now doing its job.
